Dodge D Series part 3

Redesign of the D-series for 1972, which lasted until 1980 presented a more rounded appearance, similar to the 1973-1987 GM C / K series. This is a redesign for the third generation, which covered up to 1993 with minor changes, including new features such as independent front suspension and rear lights score (distinguishing the reverse lights were recessed on top of 0.25 in (6.4 mm) to avoid damage loading docks and confined spaces). Style cues such as jagged and rounded hood fenderwells, were similar to the rounded, smooth appearance in 1971 Plymouth Satellite. These trucks were built with a lot of galvanized steel to resist corrosion makes them very durable. In this regard, today these trucks make great restoration project.

Midnite Express has been painted black instead of red and signs of "Midnite Express-Truck" sticker on the door. Most of the Midnite Express trucks were equipped with a 440 engine, and not 360 as the Li'l Red Express. All these machines are considered "lifestyle" pickups and have been sold to an audience that wants to specialty trucks for personal use. Dodge also considers it necessary in the market "Club Cab" pick-up and released an extended version of the D-Series cab with additional space for front seat at the same time, the presence of two cabin doors - not to be confused with the much larger "Crew Cab", which had four doors.
