This 1926 Dodge Brothers Four-Door Sedan was offered for sale at the 2007 Sports and Classic Car Auction presented by The Worldwide Group, in Hilton Head Island, SC where it was estimated to sell for $15,000 - $20,000.
The history of the Dodge Brothers marque begins in 1914. A total of 249 examples were created during the company's first year. The name 'Dodge Brothers' was used from 1914 through 1927. In 1928 it was acquired by the Chrysler Corporation and its name was changed to 'Dodge'.
A new vehicle was introduced July of 1923 which brought with it a very radical styling change. The car now sat atop a wheelbase that measured 117 inches, had louvers on the hood, and the body sat low in the frame. The following year the car was given automatic windshield wipers.
In 1925 the Dodge Brothers Company was purchased by Dillon, Read & Company for $148 million. Dillon, Read & Company later sold it to Chrysler on July 31 of 1928.
